Police Pursuit Ban

Well watch car thefts increase.

I sympathise with the Police but this ban will lead to any criminal just driving faster to cause a policeman to abandon the chase.

*threaten to ban pursuits

Wont happen to Oct 1 .. by then they will work out a resolution.

Upgrade alarm...

Doubt thefts will go up, but vehicle recovery rates will probably go down.

That said, even one innocent death caused by a pursuit is one too many, let the bastards go, that's what insurance is for. And like TJ said, will probably be watered down before it gets passed.

I hope resolution occurs then TJ. I have a Friend who has just entered the Police force. They deserve protection whilst doing their job.

I was literally discussing this with someone who has some knowledge of the issue.. its political suicide to alienate police.. it will get sorted.

What they were about 120kw? The turbo 6 made more power.

'Kick it in the guts barry.'

'It's the last of the V8's, sucks nitro!'

Considering there is already a number of reasons why they have to break off a chase.. aka speeds reached, offender crosses onto the wrong side of the road etc etc etc I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up sooner. There is no real short term solution to such a thing as car theft. You can't protect your vehicle 24/7, eventually all alarms will be able to be bypassed, cross your fingers, have a half decent alarm system installed, maybe a tracker with one of those tracking companies, and insurance paid up. Live by the rule, vehicles can be replaced, people can't.
