Family Lawyer recommendations? - Potential custody battle

Hi there,

Anyone been through this before and can recommend a good lawyer? Rough idea of costs and process involved? Reading on the internet it seems like mediation then court when an agreement can't be met?

It's all a bit daunting so any help/advice would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Paynes Solicitors. Anne Payne.

Cost ... How long is a piece of string? My costs have easily been 5 figures multiple times. Essentially it's all dependent on your and your ex's ability to be reasonable.

Hope your ex works otherwise they'll have legal aid and they won't care about their costs.

Good luck.

It's actually not my ex. but my wife's. He is not reasonable in the slightest and I expect the process will be long, drawn out and expensive.

He works and doesn't like spending his $$ so that at least goes in our favor.

Thanks for the info.

I am using Kim Wilson and Co. They have been able to get some ground breaking decisions my way. They do cost, but they have been able to get the orders the way I want them.

Highly recommend them, I have been told they are one of the best in Perth for Family Matters.
With regards to the other side, my ex used a lawyer for a flat fee of $12K and she wasnt happy in the end and neither was her lawyer. You get what you pay for and if it your kids time you are trying to get, I was willing to give up everything and sink myself into alot of debt to get my time with my daughter, to which I nearly did.
Give them a call and set up a time.

I used o'sullivan davies in the city. Again they cost but they seemed far more interested in gettin a resolution rather than dragging it out to court and getting fees that way.

We use a few different lawyers for work stuff and these have been the most impressive i have ever dealt with.

My experience with O'Sullivan Davies was the complete opposite. Wouldn't get near them with a barge pole. Billed me for time when I queried whether an engagement document was sent. Didn't pay the bill nor did I engage them after that.
