PS3 Cinavia Error code

Hello,

Has anyone else encountered playing downloaded movies and get the cinavia code on there ps3, Bloody annoying and wondering has anyone managed to overide at all?

Have tried stopping the internet connection, even changing the ps3 date settings and this only fixes the problem for like 30 mins of play.

buy a western didgiatl media player for $100, problem solved. The only way you can get around it is to default reset your ps3 and never update it!

There is no way around it on a PS3.

Either acquire movies legally or download ones with out the protection in it.

Reformatting the file can be done with success (a bit hit and miss) however you loose quality on what is generally not that good to start with.
For what it's worth though just play it on a PC with VLC. Use a HDMI input to the TV if possible. Or as above, a budget media player will sort it.

Burn the file onto DVD disk (whether you convert it to DVD format or not the cinavia protection will still be there) then play the disk on a normal DVD player.

As far as I am aware bluray players are the only players that recognise the cinavia protection.

+1. This is what i did.

Make sure you do research if you are buying a digital media box- some of the newer models have the ability to be "cinavia protected" later on by way of firmware update....

Can't remember the specifics but i ended up buying the base model, works a fucking treat.

1. Connect PS3 to home PC Network
2. Install PS3 media server (Free) on PC.
3. Download all the movies you want for free via torrents, and then use PS3 media server to stream them to your PS3 without needing to do any reformatting/re-encoding etc.
4. ?????
5. PROFIT!

^ No this doesn't work.

You will still get Cinavia errors exactly the same when you use PS3Media Server.
