I'm going there next week! I land in Dubai late Sunday night.
Not sure which day I'm going to Ferrari World yet but either way it'll be fuckin stinking hot I'm sure. How did you get there from Dubai? Train or bus, or car? |

Ferrari world is the bomb, fastest roller coaster in the world, took a taxi from Dubai to Abu Dhabi cost wise was nothing, catch was Dubai taxis don't know there way around Abu Dhabi well our driver didn't. caught a bus back nice and easy.if you visit Ferrari world pay extra for the VIP, you don't have to line up in normal queue and you get to go into the lounge and have unlimited snack and food and drinks........

We caught a taxi from just out of Dubai and it cost us 160 dirum, we both paid for the premium tickets to que jump and bought them on line with no problems.
Abu Dhabi is about 50 mins up the road from main Dubai hence the taxi cost.

Just thought that I would up date this for Joe, couple of things that I've learnt about Dubai over the last few days.
It's no cheaper over here to buy clothes, shoes, sunnies, watches or anything, it costs pretty much the same as Perth apparently you don't get taxed on wages here but you do on everything else. Try to get normal taxi's not the hotel ones, they charge you more for the hotel ones and you can get normal taxi's anywhere. Temp is somewhere from 35+ and muggy so pretty tropical. If I can help with anything else let me know, oh and if you want to go check out the 7 star hotel you have to book so get in early. Normal trading hours are about 10-11 am through to about 10-12pm.

Thanks for the advice
![]() As for the cost of shopping, I'd have to disagree with you there saying that its no cheaper than Perth. My sister is what you'd call a professional shopper, and she's blown away by how cheap some stuff is here. Normal shoes and clothes (not designer stuff) is noticeably cheaper, and the range is ridiculously larger than Perth. Make up is about 20% cheaper, even things like razor blades are HALF price (I'm stocking up at the local Carrefour before I leave). Designer stuff is about 10% cheaper, but still not cheap as you can imagine. Food is same as Perth, taxi's are stupid cheap (because fuel costs fuck all here), and drinks are expensive.. 35-45 dirhams for a cocktail with no alcohol in it? Fuckin rip off! |
