Apple geeks, need your help

Hi guys. I have a small dilemma that hopefully you can help me out with.

So im selling my macbook pro but the buyer wants office to come with it. I originally wanted to format my macbook before i sell it but that would mean i would have to re-purchase and install and office.

For obvious reasons I feel a little uneasy not formatting the hard drive as it has all my details etc.

So the question is, is there anyway I can ensure all my passwords, internet log in's (internet banking, facebook, ebay, PWRX etc) are completely wiped off without formatting?

Also how do i go about linking my itunes on my Macbook to my PC (mainly for purchased apps so i can sync with my ipad).

Cheers

Definitely format it, even go so far as to use the 7-pass formatting, which can take a few hours, and reinstall the OS. It's not worth compromising your identity, either negotiate a lower price, or find another buyer.

Try using the Mac Product Key Finder to get the office installation key, format the hard drive and set it up from scratch.

First thing I did when I got my mac book pro was to stick in a SSD so that if I ever sell it, there would be no chance of any data being left behind and possibly manipulated.

Just throw the Mac in the bin.

thanks for the tip guys. Looks like I will have to format it. Checked the box but I don't see an installation disk. How would i go about formatting? sorry for the noob questions (first Mac).

Soksta, can i re-use the serial and activate office again or would it say this serial has already been used?

cheers

It should be able to automatically connect to the internet and activate itself, failing this you can ring up and speak to a Microsoft service representative and get them to give you the activation code over the phone.

I have only done this on a Windows based machine once, can't say that I've done it on a Mac yet.

As for the missing CD/DVD's, I wonder if you could source the discs online some where or from an Apple Store that you got the Mac from?

Which particular model do you have? Mac Book or Mac Book Pro?

Hey soksta thanks for the quick reply. Just asked a friend and he said the formatting can be done on the mac without cd using the Mac utilities.

Cheers all.
