I'll give it another committed shot this week, if not I may just be in touch shortly thanks mate :)
No worries mate, let me know how it goes. Can pop on over on the weekend if you need a hand in person. |
Soksta always loves giving a "hand" in person!

No more hands for you! |

Doesn't GooManager only look for updated binaries and install them once you have a custom rom installed (and the developer(s) give update access to GooManager)?
Nah does the whole lot for you. |
Nah does the whole lot for you.
Interesting, haven't heard about this before! Have seen custom one click rooting programs that just do everything for you, but this doesn't work on everything as each phone doesn't have the same exploit needed to get root access. |
Yeah i think you need to get root access first, then go GooManager that does everything else. Has been 6 months since i did it so can't remember it exactly.
Check it out and see |
Ive got a SGS3, I like it, interface was good to me. New update has made the phone crap, really tempted to put a rom on it now.
Agreed.. Android and the S3 are great.. Latest update is shite.. Can anyone confirm when we get the next update, I think its jelly bean 4.1.2.. Correct me if im wrong. I would like to install custom rom.. But i have a crap PC at home, and dont wanna lose all my stuff on my phone at the moment.. Any suggestions.. Cheers |
Looks like I might have misunderstood my mate, he was looking into flashing but ended up getting an over the air update from his phone provider.
If you want I can have a look at the XDA forums and find the info/stuff you need so that you can flash the phone on your own. Won't have time to do it until later on this week if you do want to go down this path.
that would be sweet thanks |
Question for you other Android nuts out there.
I'm currently using a HTC Velocity 4g with ICS and I have no major problems yet however when I boot my phone I'm waiting at least 2 minutes for it to boot due to some fucked up telstra logo I can't get rid of. A friend of mine has the same phone and boots under 5 seconds every time. Is there any way to get rid of this? |
Is there any way to get rid of this?
I'm not 100% on this, but I think you can only change the boot animation when you have S-OFF or root access. This might be of some use to you.
- Download the Boot Animation - Rename the Boot Animation to bootanimation.zip or Telstra_bootanimation.zip (if you are running the Stock Telstra Rom on a rooted phone). - Use ADB or a GUI app like Droid Explorer to copy the file over the existing bootanimation.zip and then reboot the device. - Enjoy.
You can also use Astro or ES file managers to copy files into the root once you have access. |
