Nope, didn't read it.
I assumed from the headline it would refer simply to the above equasion to prove it was a waste of money without ever considering the cost of potential engine damage. The recomended fuel RON is a minimum, does not leave any headroom for other factors that can affect detonation. ie; age of the fuel, condition of the filters, condition of the engine, driving style, weather, altitude etc.
Bottom line, unless you're a tightwad put the best damn fuel you can in it.
