Default Engine change

Hypothetically if you blew your wrx engine and replaced it with another wrx engine and you wanted to do the righty for your insurance and change the engine number does anyone know what is involved?

I am talking about like for like. not putting a wrx engine in a rx etc. simply one blew up so you put another identical spec one in.

I know you have to fill in this form -

http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/media...gineNumber.pdf

but do you have to take it down to the pits? The reason is that I don't really want said pits to go over the car and find anything else wrong with it and tell me to get that fixed.

Thanks

Brendon
