Wow, impressive list... you actually had a GTHO? bet ya wish ya still owned that baby... Also noticed the 2 Fiat 124's... really had a soft spot for them (still do), but ya don't see any these days.

Also the Monaro 327 - was that the Bathurst model?

I paid $4500 for the GTHO in 1980 or 81. It belonged to a farmer & had seen a lot of gravel. The body was a bit rough when I got it but went like stink. Unfortunately I ran up the arse end of a cattle truck and wrote it off.(What can I say, young & bullet proof).
The 327 Monaro was a faker, was originally a 307 that I bought from a repo yard with the motor blown ( I can't remember what I paid for this but once again I got it for a good price as I was good friends with the guy who handled the tenders.)
The 124's were great fun. I had intentions of putting a small block Chrysler into 1 of them but my idea's were greater than my bank balance at the time.

Ah, that's right... it was originally a 307 Chev motor & the Salisbury diff which caused it to flick out to left on launch due to the HP and the unequal sized axles, in the HK IIRC... worth a few bob these days if you could find one... not a GTHO but they had some raw grunt !

Still might have been a Bathurst if it was an original 307...

I think a few of the vehicles in this list are probably worth a few bob these days. Most were picked up for a reasonable price years ago when I had them, but only increased in value long after they were no longer in my possesion. Unfortunately I didn't have the foresight then to realize what a long term investment was, so they were also disposed of cheap. I know I'd definitely like to still have a few them now.

My first car at 17 was a Hillman Avenger. Same as this but a darker blue metallic colour. I remember it being so rusty around the front that I had to keep one of the head lights in place with a piece of folded up cardboard which kept falling out LOL.

Not my car but these cars were used alot in rallying etc so not as boring as they look in the pic above.

Next was a MK2 Escort 2 door, similar colour to this but with a black vinyl roof. Done me well this car and was very reliable.

Then came a Opel Manta, looked the same as this one. Great car and loved it until someone wrote it off by smashing it up the arse one day

Next boring, boring this Vauxhall Cavalier. Bought it of my Dads company really cheap. It was his old company car but served me very well as my daily for work and I sold it for more than I paid when I done a part exchange for the 205 below

Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9. Loved this car. I was so close to buying a Escort RS Turbo when I drove one of these and had to get one. It was like driving a go kart. I only got rid of it because I had to many problems with it and lack of customer service from Peugeot.

After the reliability problems with the 205 I wanted a well built performance car. I nearly got an Audi A4 Turbo but deciding instead to get one of these. Golf 16V Gti. Looked the same as this but my wheels were different. Loved this car too but it lacked a bit of low down torque compared to the 205 so I took it to a company called GTi Engineering at Silverstone Race Circuit. They bored out the engine to a 1900 etc. etc. which made so much difference. I remember having a run with a Sierra Cosworth one night. I didnt beat him but he never got away from me
Sadly HAD to sell it when I came to OZ

Since then I am lucky to have had numerous company cars and have my 05 WRX for fun.
