17.1L/100km; seems pretty horrendous. It does get better (to around 14L/100km in relative terms) when you factor in the price compared to 98, and for the performance difference it seems to be worth it.

As everyone else has said, thats pretty good Ved, considering some get way less mileage then that.

Now for them to hurry up and release e85 in my area

[QUOTE=Rexxar;775314]How much were you getting before tune on 98?

Anywhere between 450-550 depending on how it was driven

Yeah i think with freeway driving/highway and less stop start it could go 400ish however it is 20 cents cheaper per litre than 98 so it evens out I guess.

Hope it becomes available closer to your place soon Dan.

You are assuming he used all 60 litres of his tank....when in reality he probably only put in 50 odd litres to fill in back up. probably around 14.5-15 litres per 100kms is my guess. (happy to be corrected)

When was the last time you filled up and put the full fuel tank capacity in?

I have a 60 litre tank. Fuel light comes on. I fill up about 50kms later and still only put in about 49 litres in at a time. (Most i have ever had to put in is 53 litres)

Well worth it in performance terms.

Spot on..Even if you have to fill up 1.5x a week on E85 to make up your usual mileage on 1 tank of BP98, still shouldnt work out to be too much more with the price differential of the two fuel types. Provided of course the mileage is anywhere as good as what your getting Ved.

He said he "did a full tanks worth" so I wasn't really assuming anything.

Like I said, it's almost the same usage as 98 (in relative terms) and you get a butt-load more mid-range torque as well as a decent amount more power up top. That's why people went to the lengths of shipping it in by the barrel before it was available at the petrol stations.

Are there any major draw backs of switching to E85 aside from only being able to obtain it at united ?

Depends on what you read. Gumming up of injectors, fuel filters yada yada, corrosion and disintegration of rubber fuel lines etc etc.

Then some people have been running it for ages, stripped down their engine and have seen no signs of above mentioned problems.
