Anyone here ever done any Astronomy? I have a problem, and thought someone here might be able to help

The wife bought me a Celstron Nexstar 8SE for my birthday, I have been waiting for a bit of decent weather before testing it... finally got it outside tonight to have a mess with it, but having all kinds of problems getting it to align or focus

i've turn the focusing knob completely in both direction and cannot get it to focus even on something like the moon - driving me mental

The focus knobs are REALLY sensitive, so you have to turn it very slowly around the right spot. Also, it helps to set up your sighting scope during the day on something you can see through the main scope. Then you at least know what you're pointing at in the dark. Good luck!

Yeah think i'll try and focus it tomorrow, that will alleviate the possibility of dew also.

Was all excited to finally get to use it tonight haha should have been more prepared!
