Couple of mates, few shovels and wheelbarrows and a carton, good to go

I'd hire a mixer from Bunnings if we're talking concreting 'obviously size dependent', don't be shy with compacting it down and spending the money on re-enforcement bars 'if required'.

There are the smaller cement mixing groups which can be cost effective for smaller jobs. They essentially mix up on site on your behalf which means you don't have to source mixer and materials.
