House alarms / CCTV systems

Hi there,

There used to be a lot of discussion about house alarms and CCTV cameras but the latest thing I can find is from 2015.

I'm looking to replace a 20+ year old alarm system so I can get more sensors, maybe reed switches for the windows, and I'm also interested in cameras. I have a separate camera system now but interested to know if the two integrate these days.

Does anyone still do this on here? What's the latest good thing?

Cheers,

Wrxpc

Just something I would do with camera's is have one mounted at ground level, nearly every shot you see is the top of a hoodie because they know the high mounted camera's won't pick them up.

I noticed Swann are now doing cams with a thermal sensor, should make for less false alarms. Don't buy any cams less than 720p res or they're pretty useless, the higher res the better.

Just an update, Matt came out and replaced my old alarm system, very happy with the gear I got installed and very happy with his work. If you need anything done he's the guy to call.

Cheers,
