Hi Guys,
Having an attic installed and need an outlet moved.
Should only need a new outlet and cutting the hole etc as the ducting runs past where I think it will go.
Anyone recommend someone as the attic guy is still here and access will be good.

The outlets are usually just clipped into place in the ceiling. Remove the outlet and cut the new hole the same size as the old one where you need it to be and clip it back in. You can buy the little hand saws from Bummings for about $10 I think.

Just make sure when you lay the ducting tube out in the ceiling there are no kinks in it that will restrict air flow.

If you have reverse cycle aircon the new outlet usually goes towards the back half of the room away from the doorway.

If you have evaporative you usually place the outlets closer to the doorway away from the windows.

If it is only the ducting tube that is in the way and not the actual outlet you could buy some ducting tube and re-route it yourself so you are not chopping and patching the ceiling unnecessarily. Bumming also sell the ducting tube.

Hi Nick,
The attic floor was covering the existing outlet.
I went and got a new outlet and the attic guy is going to do it while he is doing the fitout.
I will just leave the existing outlet in the hole for now with it closed up and sort it if and when the ceiling gets repainted..
