iam pretty sure that the first 2 batches of 2002 sti had vf30, cause my mate had 1 and his had a vf30 from new........later that year they changed to vf35 to increase spool up time........

decrease spool up time dont you mean?... seeing as a vf35 is smaller than a vf30

I stand corrected, slip of me finger......

increase spool = turbo spool comes on earlier
decrease spool = turbo spool comes on later

therefore the 35 being smaller then the 30 meaning that puttin the 35 in place of the 30 will increase spool..
