personally, i'd ebay a 2nd hand Canon Powershot for the ~$100 mark.
you'd probably get something about 3.2MP, but that's not the point - the Canon would produce far nice images than any new store-bought $100 camera.

In the price bracket your talking about their all much the same. Head down to dick smith and pick one from the range.
whats more important is what type of memory card they take, what size batteries try and get one with AA not AAA , charger if any,
You will find that your savings will be found by not having to buy chargers, covers, memory cards etc, (this is where the markup is).
Just remember that Dick smith has a return policy which is handy at times and sometimes specials.

Failing that upgrade your phone, you may find the phone takes as good a picture now as a cheap digital!

I have a couple of Kodacs here at work, there nothing special just litteraly a point and shoot camera. But they do get the job done and are pretty cheap, you can pick them up from Kmart... But what Viskoe said is true also. Your expense comes with batteries and memory etc. The kodac i have here has a docking station as well. (which may have been purchased seperately. but i don't think so)

Cheers lads, it will be banging around in my briefcase and will be used to take pics of shitheads that I lockup, property that I seize, accident scenes etc when we don't have a station camera handy.

Have they still got that shitty webcam in the east perth lockup for all the crims? Makes them all look black when you photograph them?

Big W in Whitfords had some cameras that were going out for between $80-$130 last couple of weeks. Had a little display out the front and all. Been meaning to get up there and grab one for keeping in the car..

From memory it was a couple of kodaks and some other cheapish brand. 3-5mp etc

Just came back from whitfords, nothing up there for under $200. Ebay will be a goer as per usual.
