radar detector on the blink
its flashing sayin that it needs a service constantly
i called these ppl http://www.neltronics.com.au/ but they need to know where it came from. i bought it from STI TUNED in that group buy. Chris help :) need if for xmas arrgghh :( |
Im pretty sure Chris bought it from over seas? So i dont think your in luck :(
|
This seems a common problem! What do they do when its serviced? Change the oil???
|
I was told it can be the high air temps with overseas imported models. Apparently our hotter climate can require recalibration. May be some truth in it if it is happening as summer comes on. My mates has just had the same problem.
|
Chris obtained these units from O/S
You can tell neltronics that the warranty is over and i think they will change it over for a new one at the cost of 50 - 100 dollars if i remember correctly. |
do i tell em its a OS unit tho?
|
Mine gives error msgs after sitting in the direct sunlight-probably not good for bits inside it aye??

Nah you change the oil yourself every 5000k. They rotate your buttons, check all your other fluids, and polish your screen so it looks new and shiny... |
Uhhh...are you sure Elemist?
I've been having problems with my RX65 also, so I thought I'd take your advice.. I just opened up my Bel RX65, and didnt notice anywhere to put any oil...I noticed this little thing that looked like a coil of copper wire, so I put some light oil in the middle of it...sorta like a "resevoir" I thought. I didnt put engine oil, thought it might be a little bit too hardcore for something as small as a radar detector. Doesnt seem to be working at all now!! :( Rotating the buttons is easy, but what other fluids should I be putting in it???? Anyone?? |
Semenal fluids joe
