Default Drivers License

One of my employees ex's rang my office yesterday and said do you know that so and so is driving one of your vehicles without a valid drivers license.

It seems to be an ongoing problem. When my brother lost his license (for points) they did not actually take it off him. So if I say to this guy can you show me your license he probably can. Is there any way of knowing whether it is valid or not?

Cheers

Brendon

Part of the "loss of license" process is for you to hand in your license. If he still has it then there isn't much you can do.

You can try and ring the DPI, but due to privacy laws I'll doubt you'll have much luck.

However... if he has lost his license and he still has his physical license, he may still have no license is that make sense? As soon as you pay the fine, you admit guilt. It is from that day forward that you "do your time" so to speak... But due to the backlog the DPI always have, they can take forever and a day to tell the cops to come and collect your license.

Just pray that the idiot doesn't crash one of your vehicles, because fat chance insurance will cover it....

Yeh I think the Card itself is the "licence" and until you hand it in or get it taken of you you still have your licence?

what about non-payment of fines? do they 'take' your licence then or is it suspended?

Either way, his ex sounds like a bitch!

Incorrect.

As soon as you pay the fine which leaves you without a license, is when the suspension time starts.

When you pay the fine your admitting guilt. Once they process all the bullshit they send you a letter asking you to hand it in. However, by this time you officially have no license, regardless if you have the card or not.

If you decide not to pay the fine, you don't lose your license. Instead you'll be summonsed to court, and you'll fight out your case, or get raped. Either way you will lose it (depending on your case). End of the day, the suspension time starts when you admit guilt. If you pay the fine, you admit guilt pretty much immediately. If you go to court, depending on if your proven guilty on not, the suspension time will start once the sentence if handed out.

My mate tried it, and got stung. Hard.

Fred: Non payment of fines you get it suspended. You wont know until you receive a letter. Happened to me with unpaid parking fines!

it IS possible to have a card without an actual license. if he falsely claims he has a valid license and crashes a vehicle sue him.

Just suspended until you actually pay them.
