Much better use of it than pissing it away on Acer hardware, frankly. |

They are all the same but everybody will tell you how one is a piece of shit over the other. ps stay away from Dell they are pieces of shit |

That's somewhat true, but I know I've spent several hundred hours on piece of shit, cheap, nasty, awfully pieced together Acers, and about three hours total fixing busted Dells Toshibas haven't been that far behind Acers for me either... IBM have a better record, but are generally quite pricey for a good unit. |

Besides, the affected batterys were manufactured by Sony and fitted to Dell, Apple, IBM, Toshiba, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Sharp devices. The Chaser was occasionally pretty funny, but not exactly an accurate news source. |

Macbook ftw....its definitely going to be my next laptop. After using my friends Macbook Pro, I'm converted.
If you wanna stick with something non-Apple, Dell laptops. Never had any problems with mine, and a few friends with Dell's have had the same experience...and they are damn cheap for the features you get! Spare parts are also dirt dirt cheap for them if you ever do need them i.e. plastics, etc. I wore my keyboard out after 3 years of hardcore usage, and it cost me 16 dollars for a new one!!! New batteries for them are also quite cheap. The new Inspiron 640m with 2ghz Core 2 Duo processor, 60gb SATA 7200rpm drive (or 100gb 5400rpm drive for the same price), high definition screen and 1gb ram can be had for well under 2500 bucks! Its also very light, and small. You can configure a 640m with slightly less features, for under 2k. Last edited by BALISTC; 25-12-2006 at 08:10 AM. |
