Hi guys,
My son has cooked his head on his Honda Civic. Would anyone know of a reputable Honda shop NOR to do a possible top end rebuild on his engine.Cheers. Kindest regards Nails |

What year civic? What engine? etc.
I work for a honda wrecker, I could source you a second hand head depending on availability. 2nd hand comes with a 6 month warranty. Can sort out fitment too. |

definatelly need to know year/engine etc.
when you say cooked the head - what exactly do you mean by that? if the engine was overheated do you know what caused the issue? radiator, coolant leak, thermostat fault? have you counted a new headgasket into the equation? possible bottom end damage? - obviously depends how bad the overheating was but there is always a possibility. cooked civic
Thanx Guys,
He had borrowed it to a friend of his whilst we were away on holiday over christmas, he probaly never kept a eye on the temp gauge and ran out of coolant. Tipical white steamy smoke from exhaust and removal of radiator cap once topped up a lot of bubbles comming through. 1994 Honda Civic Eng# D15Z21000312 Chasiss# JHMEG43100S208396 Cheers Nails |

sounds like it could just be the head gasket then - but maybe the valve seals would be worth replacing as well.
If you do end up taking the head off, and don't necessarily want to get a replacement head you could do a recon on the head, change the head gasket and she'll be as good as new. shouldn't the 'friend' be covering the damage costs to an extent? depends ofcouse on the situation and agreement but its easy to destroy someone elses car and not want to take the blame for it. |
