Performance Diesel Tuning

Anyone know who/what is worth trying out with regard to ecu's and exhausts etc?

Eg, who is the motec and who is the wolf???

Im looking at the new touregs, Q5's and 200 series landcruiser and wondering with mild mods, if the 3.0L TDDI would be a good modding platform for some basic tuning to make towing a breeze...

motec is still motec, but you still have the option of factory reflashes for a lot of the euro 4wd's

otherwise, all you have are piggybacks afaik...

just start drafting some LPG in :)

I think he's using the ECU types metaphorically tuna.

yes- motec can still very capably drive the diseasel's though

There are plenty of chips available that are just a simple plug in to the injector harness

with a decent exhaust will see around 35% increase in power

I sort of thought this, was thinking its always an option if all the plug-in interceptors were average. (wonder if ASG would do a Toureg with GT35/Motec????) hahahaha

Seems to be a big market of suppliers out there, was sort of wondering if they are all as good as each other...They are all around or just under $1000.

Would fit a decent exhaust and any intake mods too, just the basics. :-)

Doing a little bit of research has shown that with a "chip" + zaust in the 3.0LTDI gets roughly the following results:

Stock:
150kw-180kw (150TDI VW and V6TDI, Q5 is also similar at 176kw)
400Nm-550Nm (150TDI and V6tDI, Q5 is 500Nm)

Chip and Zaust:
+25kw
+50-80Nm

Do you think the 150TDI is just a mild tune or do you think it would have a smaller turbo or something? (Same motor as the other touregs)

Oetingger (sp?), Bluefin, REVO, APR just to name a few.

STEINBAUER is the leader for diesel performance.

United Fuel injection in Redcliffe I've heard are the go to purchase.

Unless you are towing regularly, I would be surprised if you would need to chip a 550nm diesel (V6TDI). Go drive one, you will be startled!

+ 1 for Matt at united fuel injection

Yeah I remember when Racetorque use to be in Ozzy Park, they used United fuel Injections dyno...I noted that they did a fair amount of diesel work.
