hey guys i was wondering if anybody would know if i was to buy a ecu of a 99 wrx would i benifit if i put it into my 97 gx???????

Unless you have done some sort of conversion to the GX there are 2 parts of fuckall you can do to make it faster.

You cant put a 1999 WRX ECu into a 1997 GX. It wont plug in.

If you put a 1998 WRX ECU into a 1997 GX (Which im pretty sure will plug in). It probably wont work properly if at all. Assuming it even manages to start your engine, it will throw a CEL for the missing turbo components and sensors. Which would send the ECU into limp mode and cause a massive decrease in performance over the stock GX ECU.

If you want to make your GX go faster. buy a 1998 WRX front cut and get a pro to swap the engine, g/box and wiring over.

In the end, it would be much much better to simply save your dollars and sell the GX and buy a WRX.

what are the settings of the 99 ecu, like boost level etc etc etc
got one in my 00 spec 4

the MY99 from my understanding has slightly leaner mixtures and slightly advanced timing, nothing huge.

as for the gx->99wrx idea, even if it *did* work, it would be a horrible slug because there would be no timing in the tune at all, and no boost to make power
