My car is booked into asg to get a vipec installed and tuned, however I am going to loose my cruise control it seems, does anyone know how I could keep this awesome function to facilitate my laziness?

What year is your car?

if it has electronic throttle, it is ecu, but should still retain as the ecu will have to control this anyway
without electronic throttle is controlled by a separate unit

If it's DBW (06+ sti) you will loose cruise control. If its cable throttle you should be able to keep it.

Even though the ECU controls the throttle on a DBW car, there is a lot of checking and redundancy in built to make sure the pedal position matches the throttle position. Cruise control would require this to be bypassed and this is deemed to be too much of a risk. No one wants their car to go full throttle all of a sudden when they're not expecting it.

It's not drive by wire, 2 cables to the throttle body, one of them being for the cruise control

And it's an 04 sti sorry
