The Motorsport Hero

Saw this in a magazine and thought some of you might be interested. Especially for the drags, track, skids etc...

Tried to put it in the group buys but FAILED to have enough access privileges :(

The Motorsport Hero is a waterproof mini wireless digital camera for motorsports enthusiasts. Its quick release design simplifies mounting the camera to your motorcycle, car, helmet, personal watercraft, snowmobile, etc. Developed at the track, the Motorsports HERO shoots TV resolution 30 fps video with sound tuned to capture the grunt, squeal and unbelievable excitement of driving or riding at the limit. Using only two AAA batteries the Motorsports HERO records 56 minutes of video to a 2GB SD card (not included).

The Motorsports HERO is extremely small and comes with several mounting options, allowing you to put it almost anywhere. Its compact design (2.5" x 1.25" x 3" aprox.) allows for easy mounting in tight areas and comes with a suction cup mount and four mounting plates, allowing you to relocate the camera in a matter of seconds!

The Motorsports HERO camera is a great way to record your day at the track our your favorite twisty road ride. When you're done load your video onto your computer and e-mail to your friends; or post it online!

RRP: $280.00 (I'm sure it would be cheaper if bought in bulk) It has just been released. ;)

V-SPORT price:

Comes in a box of 12 = $2495.90 so for ease of division $2496 = $208/each camera. Does not come with SD card which are $35/ea or just buy your own here. That price is 20% off V-SPORT RRP of $260. It doesn't cover freight to Perth so that would be a little extra.

Here's some footage - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJiszzvG6g0

The actual recorded footage is way better than YouTube quality.

Night vision is rooted.

Along a similar path - I bought an "automated driving recorder" the other day.

Basically the size of a radar detector, one camera faces out and another faces in (wide angle, 170 degrees) giving view of both driver and passenger.

Inbuilt GPS meaning it records your speed and location (links to google maps) at all times, it records whenever the car is started - ready to capture anything that might happen on the road (drags?!).

On the track it plots your acceleration/braking, records speed and you can use it to get lap times aswell....plus video of you doing it.

I've got a GoPro camera - works a treat. If you get 10 or more, you should be able to do a group buy for around $220 each via V-Sport.

I have sent an email requesting footage and price for a group buy.
