Converting MTS files
My Sony hard drive camcorder produces video in MTS format. How can I convert these so they can be viewed with windows media player etc? There's loads of software out there, but I need something FREE! cheers.

I dont about converting them but VLC media player should play them
and so should cyberlink power dvd |

I dont think there is anything that VLC cant play.
Its the best FREE program since Sliced Bread. |

No I basically want to convert them to avi etc so I can edit them in Windows Movie Maker

Try Handbrake
http://handbrake.fr/ not 100% sure if it will open the mts files but if it does it will convert it to anything you like. |

strange my Sony hdd camera gives me AVI right out of camera. Use VLC player, Camera should come with software though i would have thought to put it alll to dvd
|
