Nice photography mate......I just sold my 06 XT a couple of weeks ago, they respond very well to the usual mods + tune.

Thanks. I'm looking to get it more fuel efficient on the open road first as we're planning a few trips up north in it. Hoping to go to Broome in December. We're off to Geraldton this coming weekend.. and maybe Kalbarri.. see how we go.

I wouldn't mind a bit more power out of it too though..

My suggestion would be a full 3in turbo back exhaust + Verso tune and maybe a better replacement panel air filter.....this alone will net a very noticeable gain through the whole rev range especially lo-mid range torque....and more importantly it should net you much better fuel economy.

My XT had quite a few more mods and was making about 100kw over the standard engine power....best part was that my fuel economy around town was always around 10.5L/100km.....country driving used to get me around 8.5L/100km which is way better than the standard figures.

Thanks for the suggestions BXT.. looking forward to having some extra cash to do some mods to it.. I think the exhaust is the first thing I'll be doing for sure. Though I want to make sure that it's nice and quiet when cruising at 110-120kph.. I like a bit of noise when I put down the fun pedal.. but need it quiet when cruising.

I've replaced the panel air filter with a K&N filter. Though I'm looking at maybe a POD setup for a CAI in the front guard..

Yep, had the CAI that postioned the pod just behind the front fog light so get fed plently of cold air....just have to be careful through deepish puddles as they can suck up a bit of water especially if you decide to lower the Foz.

Unfortunately exhaust + tune go together, over the years there has been too many conflicting stories of the 2.5's running dangerously lean with just an exhaust upgrade and no tune.....my experience (with an MY06 mind you) was that it ran richer but to be safe and to get the most out of the exhaust, budget for a tune aswell.
