Default Wacom bamboo tablet

Hey guys I bought a bamboo one tablet off eBay a fortnight or so ago t
to use for digital artwork. Have been having a play with the artrage 2.5 software that came with the tablet and was just about to finish an oil pastel drawing when artrage crashed. Restarted the program and tried to reopen the drawing but only got a blank canvas. Is there any way that I can get my file back? Would hate to have to redo the drawing
cheers Sarah

A couple of things, the Bamboo is mainly made as an office use tablet, it has no where near the painting capabilities of the Intuos range so you may be better off upgrading if youre gonna do much painting in the future.

And as far as the document retrieval goes, i have no idea, but you shouldnt be using the programming that came with it, use photoshop, its much more powerful and the file format can be used on almost any computer

Hope you manage to get it back, good luck

Thanks for the advice. Ended up redoing thehole thing. Seemed easier than trying to work out how to get the file back. Which Photoshop woulD you remember cs4? I have a trial version of cs3 on my laptop so might give that a go and see how it works

Had this constantly happen to me when I was doing my tee art. Learnt the hard way to just constantly save at intervals so I didnt lose too much if it did happen.
Anyone know if any of the photoshops have an autosave function???

Nope wasn't saving as I went along. Learnt from that mistake and restarted the drawing from scratch saving every 5 minutes or so. Am now working on a sketch of munya's bug if it turns out ok might post it up once finished

Id try and find a decent cracked torrent of maybe CS1 or 2, they will be more than sufficient for what youre doing, I use CS3 and CS4 at uni and i find theres not a great deal of difference between them except for CS4 chewing through the RAM

these are the two digital drawings I did today. Both are freehand sketched from photos. Both were done with the artrage 2.5 software but will be getting one of the photoshop packages next pay day.

ctrl s is your friend!

So is an external USB drive so when the house burns down you have an offsite backup.

So it redundant raid arrays so when a hard drive fails its mirrored :P
