Default URGENT - Time sensitive SLR question.

Lads/Ladies, I have a work issued Nikon D70s (yes I know, not the best in the world) and we have been issued with a last minute budget increase for any new equipment.

What I am asking is what kick ass zoom lense can we ask the bosses to buy? And we need to tell them by 1200 noon Monday 19th.

LMK People.

Screw a lens. Ask for an exhaust and atmo venting bov for the unmarked wrxs.

unmarked wrxs are so last year mate. Plus they are a dime a dozen now in the city so not interested in even driving them. Especially when the bosses email me a list of about 50 cars and say "Pick 2"

How much zoom mate? if 200mm is good enough, go for the 200mm f2.8 pro series Nikkor(http://www.praimaging.com.au/d621-57...-in-stock.html) ...if not enough, I think there is a 80-400mm f3.5 with VR which is also a good option...200mm f2.8 would be my choice though!

EDIT: if you really want zoom and to blow the budget...then get this: http://www.praimaging.com.au/d603-57...ii-nikkor.html

Dan, the basic all-rounder with the specs you require as a minimum would be of the 18-200 VR, which can be had for under $1K new. But as you probably know, the lower the f-spec the better so if budget allows then def go with agentorange's suggestion. Big $$$ though, & if I know the dept, they don't got big budgets unless things have changed since my time. By zoom, I imagine you are referring to range of zoom, or fixed zoom? What lenses do you have already, as that could also dictate the choice?

Btw, the D70S was THE camera body of its time bar none in the intermediate range!
