A good point and shoot camera?
 

hey all in 4 weeks time i am leaving to go over to europe and i am undecided if i want to take my dslr with me seing as i am doing contiki and staying in hostels n bla bla, so was thinking of getting a good point and shoot digi camera

i want a camera that has a good amount of megapixels, good quality photos, good battery life, uses SDHC card , isnt to big and is easyish and quick to use?

willing to spend between $300 and $400 mark

any advice or info on cameras that you have and use would be muchly appreciated

Something like the Olympus slim digital camera I was using last Wednesday night would probably be good for what you want. Ps I've still got to email the vid from the drags to you

Lumix FT1 is FTW. bounce proof, water proof, 720p HD video. winner in all aspects. I had one but i sold it for crack money and i actually want it back

The quality of the FT1 is phenomenal, I saw a demo shoot with one at the Mandurah Camera House and I was blown away.

I own a Leica DLUX-4, I had the 3 but I lost it

It is the best camera I have ever owned, however out of your price range

However if you want the Panasonic equivalent, it is slightly out of your price range but not by much, is the same camera as the DLUX-4 however has crappier software

I use the DMC-LX3 at work and it is still a great camera.

nah i havent heard back from anyone yet might ask phildo to see if his mate can get some prices but i think i am swaying twards the lumix tz10 i think it was but will see what price phil n kym can get on them got couple weeks before ill need it so see what happenes

i ended up getting the lumix tz10 awsome camera!!!! my latest photos of brews skid pan and the casual cruise just gone this weekend i used the tz10 and the hd vids are really good

would recomend this camera if anyones looking for a new one :)

The vids definately turned out awesome from that camera, nice

thats zactly what we have, friggen awesome camera but im lookin to update ours to the new model when its out just for the extra depth its waterproof too..

ive had a few canons olympus's over the years but i reckon this is the best out of all of them..
the new Olympus 8010 water/shock proof is pretty good but a bit chunky..

Really hard to beat the Lumix's! Olympus make some decent camera's too, but the fact they use their own brand xd cards is crap. They charge an absolute fortune for them. SD cards are so much cheaper, plus more options to buy, not just one brand.
