WTD: "good" windows torrent
 

The school that my mother dearest works at has upgraded all its PC's, so she grabbed a few of the old Dell P4 towers for me.
They still have the schools login script and security etc... I'm no IT wizz, but I'm presuming that (aside from talking to the IT dude at the school) I will need to format and reinstall windows.
Does anyone know of a good working windows torrent that i could download?
Secondly, how do I go about doing this? I'm guessing I install said download onto USB and boot from there?

I thought you were asking for a torrent client to download and use on the machine :P

Best way would be to wipe and erase the contents of the hard drive using a partition manager.
Download your favourite flavour of Windows as an iso (image file) and burn it to a disk.
Once it is burnt, insert, reboot and install :D

If you are chasing a torrent client, utorrent gets my thumbs up!

Edit: Do the cases have a cd key stuck to them?
If they do what version of windows was the key for?
I have the oem installers for 2000/xp sp2/vista home premium floating around that I could create a copy for you.

Its probably a Dell Dimension 3000 series, they came with Windows XP pro and should have the COA sticker onto of the tower it's self.

You should be able to use that key and activate it again and run legit windows or there is plenty of windows 7 non genuine versions about.

Thanks all. Philbo came to the rescue. Found a good XP pro disk image, and like luigi said, have used the product key from the sticker on the tower.
Smashing "F12 to enter setup" as we speak.
