Photo Mechanic> Lightroom > Photoshop

Import with Photo Mechanic to quickly sort/cull images then into Lightroom, mainly just for basic editing and RAW conversions (assuming I havent shot JPEG for sport stuff) and then I do all of my final editing in Photoshop. For sports stuff thats simply just using actions and batch processing to do my final sharpening and resizing. Landscapes and Portraits I spend a bit more editing time on.

I'm using Photoshop Elements 9. I had a trial version of Lightroom 3 and liked it but didn't pay the monies when the trial ran out. Before buying Elements I was using Paint.net which is good for a simple freebie. I've tried to use Gimp but I didn't like the interface.

I use Corel Paintshop Photo Pro x3 to edit brightness and colouring if needs be. Couldn't figure out Photoshop and don't really have the time to try and figure it out.

The basic and most-used features of Photoshop can be taught in 15-30 mins and with that you can do some powerful stuff.
YouTube vids can teach you some interesting stuff too.
