Thats part of Marques 250's fleet of cars, they are a new company here that does a "time-share" thing with exotic cars. You basically pay an annual fee ($25K or so) and get certain usage of each car, without having to worry about insurance/depreciation etc.

I've been contacted by the owner who wants to use some of my shots from Exotics in the Outback (Ayers Rock) in his advertising.

One thing about studio car shots...they are very difficult to do well. You have to spend ages checking for reflections from anywhere in the room...yes photoshop can fix some stuff but it really needs to be done right the first time...since I think there are only 2 studios in Perth that are drive-in it could become a very costly exercise for you! I think F-22 have one? My studio would just fit a car...if I could get it up the staircase!

They're a commerical studio. Can't remember their contact details sorry. But do a search for commercial photographers and something should come up.

Well once uni finishes / quietens down, I wouldn't mind going / taking out a small group for a little 'show and tell' and give those compact digital cameras a thrash. Will be great especially in summer when we get them killer sunsets, and free bikini models if we hit up the beach :P

What I'm really liking at the moment is mixing photos with video. Here's my latest little production from the weekend just gone : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaD883XAUD4
Didn't plan to make a proper video at first, but I got bored so made this in an hour with Windows Movie Maker. I'm quiet impressed with the quality of video capture from the Ixus 65. *note the video has been compressed 50%*.

Cheers Matty, i'll hit the web site and see what i can find.....

And i dig the youtube piece, well wicked

f/22 was started by Craig Kinder & Emma Van Dordrecht (as named in contact list)

Craig was part of one of Perth's biggest commercial photography companies Gale Force, before the guys went seperate way. Don't know much about Emma, but I think she was an ex TAFE student :S

One of those guys that worked with Craig was Jonas Bresnan, who is in the UK and does some killer car shots over there.

A studio owned by Kelvin Chong (no working relation to Oscar Chong, must make that clear lol) in Canningvale can apparently get a group of cars, or a truck in there. He boasts to have Perth's biggest studio, and if that's the case I'd think the above is true considering the studio at Illustrations in West Perth could get a few cars in their studio.

and yeah it would be very costly or hard to use studios run by commerical photographers (not sure about Kelvin's) as usually they are using it to do their $10k+ photographic job at the time lol.

Well Kelvin's is suppose to be readily avaiable for students blah blah blah, so that would be your best bet imo.

But also, hiring out a portrable studio lighting kit to take out doors will be more fun and creative. Could be more technical though :S, plus you'd need to charge the battery as it doesn't last a very long time. PR Agencies or Camera Electronics in Northbridge should have these available for hire I think.

Or another cost effective idea would be to hire out a couple of normal studio lights. $90 for a weekend usually, power them up at home and shoot away in the garage or driveway. Actually thats a bloody good idea
