Hey guys,

This is my very first go at the HDR and must say I've learnt it from you guys so big thanks!

I used photoshop cs2 to produce this:

I've only used 3 images with these settings:

f14 15" ISO 400
f14 20" ISO 400
f14 25" ISO 400

I'm using a canon 400d with 17-85 IS lens. All comments will be appreciated.
Also...no idea why the QV1 building doesn't look straight????

Nice photo! I think its just that its just the lens like using a wide angle lens it creates a curve you can fix it in photoshop.

Yeah I would say the QV1 building is not straight because of the barrel distortion of your lens. You should be able to fix this easily enough.

Basically what he said ^^^ haha

But I have a link.

I've been playing around with photomatix pro and I must say that in my opinion it works better than photoshop in terms of tonal mapping (HDR)...i'm very happy with the results...however spending $99 (( freeline.ws is down as well (

Photo of my latest HDR....not too happy with it. I was too lazy to take the metering from the sky + foreground....just kinda guessed it. I guess I'll have to it again but here is the result

For the gurus:

Assuming I shoot all my pics in RAW. Theoretically it is possible to take a single RAW photo of the scene and create three photos of varied exposure in photoshop for HDR purposes.

Is this correct?

I am no pro, I have never even tried making an HDR image but with a simple google search I found this
