Default Radar Detectors Discussion

Just to bring a balance to the equation... WA is the only state/territory where these are still legal to use (but not jammers of any kind), although there is no legislation passed as yet, I believe there is a bill before Parliament to outlaw these things in line with the rest of the country.... who knows if & when the bill will become law. I haven't checked up on the latest goss regarding detectors but you can bet it will eventually pass...

I 'spose another way of looking at it, if it saves you at least a coupla times before they do become illegal, it will have been worthwhile; in the meantime, there will be no market left within the country to on-sell them to... the fines over east for using one, if caught, are horrendous .

They have been talking about banning them for 10 years... It'll happen, but not in the near future

It is amusing that they keep saying they will ban radar detectors, yet they implemented the safety warning system (SWS). And the only way to receive those notifications currently? A radar detector...

quick question, i had the rep from beltronics come into my work the other day telling me a bit about the Escort 9500 ix....he was obviously bias towards his own product saying it was better then the valentine 1

what are your thoughts on the comparison to the escort 9500 ix...from what i can tell the main difference is the escort has GPS built in meaning it can lock in fixed speed traps so it will alert the driver every time...but that's really as far as i have got..

Its understandable the salesman persuaded you as it is their job. Fixed speed cameras can be detected using a fixed speed camera detector, if you do not have a GPS system, you can pick these up for around $100-150 I think. You best leave gps detectors for gps devices, and leave proper radar/laser detection to a effective radar detector.
The GPS lockout features are an unsafe method of locking out potential K band threats GPS
The sensitivity of the V1 is also better than the Escort model. You also do not get the arrows (on the 9500) which are a big help as well as the front & rear antennae.

We only have 4 more V1's left at the group buy price - get in while you can! You wont find a better price anywhere else in WA.
Yes, I noticed that you deleted my post as well and it was not off topic... from the outset, I will tell you I'm not a troller, I've been on these forums for almost ten years, and have the interests of fellow members at heart... are you afraid that my post might have influenced potential buyers of your product because some truth might have been contained therein, that may have had a negative impact on decision to buy? Or, as a vendor, is your only interest just to make sure a group buy goes ahead, regardless of possible issues, for the $ake of personal gain?

I'm glad you're only joking your comment about "my interest is only just to make sure a group buy goes ahead regardless of possible issues."
- I am interested in hearing about these possible issues of buying a radar detector that actually works? Maybe the issue of reducing speeding fines, now unless you work for the government most people would call it more of a solution to the quarterly speeding fines in the mail.

You can request some answers from some of my customers that have dealt with me and see what they have to say.

To anyone on this forum (that I have decided to sponsor which goes to paying the on going costs of the forum), I am offering them a mates rates price, on a good quality radar detector system. Or it is available to buy elsewhere locally for up to $799 (which people pay quite often)

Unlike other retailers who are only in the business for money, I don't make a living out of selling radar detectors, and there is no "PERSONAL GAIN" in making $15 on a sale, to give people a chance to pay a fair price and buy locally, rather than importing from overseas with NO backup support. I don't know what or who you have dealt with, if you have been ripped off in the past and have a negative opinion of radar detector sellers that is out of my control.

Of course there is some gain in selling the detectors, do you give your local shopping centre manager a hard time when you shop there complaining you may be helping pay his salary, which can be seen as personal gain?

Oh, and I have re-activated your post so everyone can read it now. No one called you a troller either. Sorry if I offended you by deleting it, I just was trying to keep the threads directly on who wanted to buy a V1 for the group buy price. If anyone has any questions they can always contact me personally!

Cheers.
