they should last about 20,000km roughly, in our service at work and when i do them at home i replace them roughly at 20,000km. but some of the time they just need a gud blow of and they can go again.

Yer there piss and piss to install, go to repco and get a AFM adapter for your car (no more than $30), bolt it on make a bracket for it, and should be right. there only illegal if there not bracketed...
