from a google image search, I think they are driver side near brake booster. Not 100% tho

just thought, maybe core was removed, hence no connections?

In most cases, heaters are disconnected when the core inside the dash leaks. If you can find the hoses on the firewall, just hook up a garden hose and run it through, that way if it leaks, you don't...
