I have the cables needed (Tactrix etc) and all the software (Ecuflash, tunerpro etc), documentation as well as quite a few different base ROMS if anyone is interested. If you know the basic principles behind tuning ECU's then it's easy as to pick it up.

Only downside is that it's not realtime so you have to make your changes, apply them and then test and then go back and make more offline changes etc etc

Yeah I've been using this for the last year or so now. Just to fine tune the decapped injectors, fix up the rich idle on start-up and also the light throttle hesitation, the car runs heaps better now!

There is A LOT you need to learn before you start, but there is a "How to" section on there now that makes it a lot easier to understand. There are some really useful spreadsheets on there to help analyse all your logs too.

Once you learn how the ECU and all the tables works, all you need to do is download the software and buy a Tactrix cable. The new tactrix cable has the ability to log all the data you want to a micro sd card which means you don't have to take a laptop in the car with you everywhere to data log.

I've had two verso tunes before and it's not a problem for me. However I believe after an ECUTEK tune you are locked out.

There is another peice of software available on the romraider site called Learning View. This software allows you to read CEL codes, reset the ECU and also can read all the "learned data", like where on the map timing is being pulled and where fuel is being added/taken. Very handy.

Yeah Ecutek lock you out of the ECU, only way to get access is to lose the Ecutek settings - bit lame really but such is life.

Why does no one ever do this for 99/00 models?

I know replacement ecu's for this year/model are plentiful, but oh to have the refinement of the factory ecu would be bliss.

No stuttering at part throttle/ cold start/ fuel pump priming etc.

one day, but until then....... LINK it is.

it does the job, but there are always a few tiny spots when you wonder if it would do that with a factory reflash or iron-out tune.

refinement, that's the word.
