Quick google found this.

Quick look around under the products section found this...
ECUwest is a proud partner of Eric Minehart from Torqued Performance,USA. Eric provides an unrivalled experience and knowledge in tuning Subarus and has gained considerable respect for the custom, opensource tunes he has created.
If memory serves me right, there is one member I know of on this site who has had dealings with Eric's work and from what I know about it (quite limited) it may have borked the engine =(

Edit: I have no dealings or work with Eric and I'm not implying that he doens't know anything about Subaru tuning.

you are paying for a generic tune from a yank who has no experience tuning Australian Subaru's, unleaded petrol or sea level atmospheres and conditions...go local for tuning and prosper

Also paying a lot more buying locally instead of going direct to Eric.
E-tunes listed on the Torqued Performance site start at $85.00 USD.

As above, look around for a decent local tuner (for example MMS/ASG).

1. Anyone mentioning USA spec fuel - Avoid.
2. Generic 1 tune fits all? - Avoid if you want to maximise your results.
3. No dyno AFR check - Avoid.
4. High altitudes? Do they supply a bag of weed with the tune?
5. Company website offers nothing more than a PO Box in Secret Harbour as the address? Makes you think this is a backyard operation. Are they accredited with MTA to be offering vehicle services? What would be your legal recourse if they brick your ECU?
6. Who is ECUWest?

I'd prefer to see some more history with the tuning or find out more of what is going on. If it is a business run out of a shed, yes it will be much cheaper than a business that needs to rent premises, pay insurances, staff etc etc. I would also want to know more about the tuning, afr levels and the like. Generic tune not maximising your results based on a guess of what 98 RON fuel is like? Once you start adding in the cost (and your time) for a dyno power run to check AFR's and knock a cheap tune becomes more expensive.

This is all not a negative, it could be a new guy on the scene starting up. At one point, ASG, MMS, Stechnic, Racetorque etc etc were all brand new, but are now the gods. All I am saying is do your research first.

oh, is this the same "Darren" that traded under the name "3GWRX Performance"? He used Eric's tunes then as well so I wonder why he has changed his business name?

Why he has even mentioned 91 or 93 when you have told him you own a MY12, that alone throws enough flags up for me. Also if he's designed it specifically for 91 or 93 the wtf is he working on, Dato's?

Stick to a Subie specialist, if all your looking at is the bottom line then allow for imminent failure.

91 and 93 refers to USA spec fuel - PON (or AKI).

We measure fuel in RON.

98 RON = 93 PON

Today's episode is brought you you by the letter "B".
