Default MY97 wrx and V3 STI ecu pinouts

hi everyone, i did just post on an old thread, but am a little worried that it wont be viewed again and so im putting up a fresh one..

ive got a 97 wrx which i have put a V3 STI motor in. by the amount of threads ive posted over the last couple of weeks about issues with this project, alot of you probably already realise its not been going great.

im now at what i hope is my last hurdle. my 97 rex is an aus spec. i bought a jdm sti motor which bolts up and plugs in exactly perfectly, but still has the jdm engine harness. when it came to starting it i had no spark at the plug leads. ive heard that wrx and sti cam and crank sensor pins are in different places on the ecus? maybe this is my problem? does anyone have copies of these two ecu pinouts?

ahh its ok i think i found it.. theyre swapping the ecus not the whole motor.. my mechanic got hold of the pin outs so when he comes over tomorro we will re pin the aus ecu to the jap harness and if it works ill post up the changes we needed to make!

I think you have to do the fuel pump as well.

I'm doing it on my WRX 97 as we speak. (3 yellow plug ECU)

ECU plug b136 pin 8 and 10 are swaped (Cam/crank) (white/no stripe and red/no stripe wires)

ECU plug b137. Pin 17 moves to pin 7 (Light green/black stripe) fuel pump line.

It describes it all page 58-59 of wrx serverce manual 97-98 PDF.

As far as i know that should be correct... That will allow a JDM ecu to work in an AU/EU wired car.

Tim.
