Looking at getting some coilovers installed for my 06 sti but not to sure what ones are good. Aiming for getting the car low with bit more grip and control. Looking at spending around max 2000. What are everyone's suggestions?

Personally, I would go something Australian, ie DMS or MCA. At least support is local if you need it or break something.
I have DMS40s on my GC - they are pretty good. With some adjustable tops they have helped the car handle the track very well. I have been told by someone with STD coilovers that my DMS were more comfortable on the street also.

Can't go past MCA Blues.

I would also consider the HSD Monopros - as they are also tuned properly for the car like the MCAs are. And replacement parts, different springs, rebuilds etc are available and cheap.

Also maybe a combo of Koni yellow adjustable shock inserts and RCE (Racecomp Enginering) Yellow springs (which won't go that low, but should handle like a boss without being super-stiff). [About $1100 for the inserts off ebay (USA) and $500 for the springs - so within budget.]

I have the red series on my GC8. Made a huge improvement to the handling. Can't wait to get some new tyres on it and see what time she does around the track.
