Yes and yes. Would let you change between atmos and plumb back as you wish.

Excuse the perth-wrx muppeteers, some of the lads are like the first time they had sex, think they're john holmes but in all reality come too fast and aren't even sure if they're doing it right!

The general consensus with blow off valves, is a diaphram type valve is the most reliable of units versus your typical 'piston with spring' variety ala turbosmart/gfb etc'. In most street applications its nor here nor there. They all essentially do the same thing, so the preference would be application, look and sound.

My 'opinion' is if you are changing, stick to JDM. If you go external venting, a tune would eliminate the overfueling and spluttering.

If you are still running a MAF based tune, i believe that this can only be tuned out so much, it will never be perfect. You need to be tuned on MAP to avoid non-rich between gears, overfuelling if a full atmo is used.

Cheers

Only 'cheap' way to tune a 99-00 GC8 WRX is to buy a second hand ECU (PossumLink/normal Link/Apexi Power FC etc). The Link based ECU will remove the AFM from the equation which is a good start as the AFM in the 99-00 WRX is known to be a bit fail prone at the best of times, gets worse if you use an oiled air filter.

My advice is to either on sell the BOV you just brought and stick with stock or see if you can send the item back to the seller and get most of your money back that way. In today's anti-hoon campaign sing an externally venting BOV is just asking for a yellow sticker. Cut your losses now!
