coolant
After some genuine subaru coolant for a my04 wrx.
thanks |
subaru osborne park
$50 for 4 litres i think. just top up the rest with distilled water |
thanks. i only need enough to fill the tank next to it, the clear one?
|
what clear one are you referring to?
your overflow bottle? just fill that with distilled water. distilled water won't promote electrolysis, and won't corrode the jackets on your motor. |
yeah the bottle, it seems theres only a little bit of coolant in there (green). but the main section is full to the top. where can i get distilled water from?
|
coles, woolies, bunnings etc etc
|
the overflow tank isnt suppose to be full.
|
overflow tank is ment to be full were it says full and theres a line next to it.
|
thanks guys. yeah the overflow tank isnt on the "full" line. so do i just add distilled water to top it up?

Can do 'but you fill it to the line on the side of the bottle, not to the top'. I'ed still recommend mixing in coolant with it. If you're using an airconditioner at home, stick a bucket under it to catch the water from that, or alternately use rain water 'which has been a bit scarse lately :D'. edit: you may find a pleasant suprise 'all over your engine bay', if you overfill the overflow bottle, or shit yourself thinking your radiatior has exploded, either way pic's please :D |
