I need a sea container for probably 12 to 18 months. 20foot or maybe even 40foot. To store all our furniture and other junk (basically the contents of our house) for a while. We are selling up and building a new place so need this for the duration.
I've seen a few advertised in the quokka. Planning to buy one and then re-sell it for basically the same price when I'm done using it.....or also open to renting/leasing one - just depends what the cost is like. I would need it delivered to Jandakot. It aint going to fit in my 6x4 trailer. So just wondering if somebody has a good contact to get these from for a good price or just some general advice. cheers. |

I've bought a few through Royal Wolf.
I'll also check if we have any spare ones hanging around.

A 40 footer will set you back around $4k, these guys might be worth trying as they hire as well - http://www.wacontainerservices.com.au/hire_sales.php

^^ Have used them before. Easy to deal with and they are only a container after all.

I bought a 20' container earlier this year for $1700 in very good condition.
The Quokka is pretty good, however you need to ring early in the morning to get the cheap deals. I rang one guy at 7:30am and he told me that someone had called him at 5:30am and already bought the container. A few people selling containers will advertise cheap as there is bugger all access into their property to get the container out. When ringing, ask if the container is easily accessible for tilt tray/hiab or whether you need a crane to get it out. I've also got a good contact for a tilt truck that can move containers. The guy was very good, had all the right gear and gave me a very good price for cash considering we did a 300km round trip to move the container out to the country. PM me if you want more info.

Just check with your council first if your aloud to have sea containers were your residing first, ino in Chittering/Bindoon were we are, you are not aloud to have sea container on your property for some rando reason, and if you do want to have one for storing purposes, you have to grab an application to have one, and that will only grant you 6 months at a time use. Which sucks.
Hope you find one, just wanted to tell you that before you got one, and then got a nasty fine from the council ![]()

thanks I'll check that out. It's going on a 6 acre property, behind a house, but they'd probably still know with all this big brother style aerial photography happening these days!

Probably want to have some decent ventilation with all the salt residue in there too.
