2011 wrx bootlid in obsidian black WITHOUT SPOILER (buy/swap)
looking for 2011 wrx bootlid in obsidian black WITHOUT SPOILER to swap (for my boot with spoiler) or straight out buy. Boot must be in immaculate condition with no holes from spoiler removal/scratches. I know thats probably going to be hard to find but its worth a try!!

FYI normal Impreza boot will fit.
Could also buy a new boot or obtain a 2nd hand one and get it painted

thanks for that! didnt think of using a regular impreza bootlid. do you know if they sell the wrx bootlid without spoiler in aus? or how much it is to paint?
i went to the panel beaters and was quoted a ridiculous amount to remove my spoiler (put it this way... its cheaper for a new one )

If you go to a dealer and order a standard impreza bootlid it will fit, I think it was around the 400 mark but can't remember exactly how much I organized soksta's a while ago now.
Speak to Rhys at city Subaru and say James sent you. |

As for painting I can't give you an estimate, but if you have a look at the panel and paint thread, you should be able to find a number of reputable places that can give you a quote. I'd say that the cost of removing the spoiler, covering the holes and getting a respray would come close to the cost of a new boot and respray. There are 14 holes that need to be closed up once the spoiler has been removed, as the picture below shows. Word of warning, the boot weighs a fair bit less without the spoiler and it opens very easily (and quickly)

Haha I didn't once think about the boot opening quickly haha!
You will also need an eye level brake light! |

LOL - no spoiler is just so clean
After my last Lib there was no way it was going to have a spoiler.

High mount brake light from Subaru (same that the STI comes with) will cost around $150 from memory and you will also need to remove the trim on both sides of the C pillars (where the rear windshield is) to be able to remove the parcel shelf and cut the hole out for where the brake light sits. There is a spare connector that the brake light plugs into under the parcel shelf and a hole near it to run the cable through. Expect this to take 1 to 2 hours and if you need a service manual on how to take the trim out, let me know and I'll link you to one. Quote:
I never liked the GT's with a spoiler, but with a lip they don't look too bad. The new lip on the STI tS model is very nice!
