WTB- Good Dashcam
Hi All,
Want to buy a good dash cam like a blackvue DR650 2 channel or similar. If anyone has one or similar for sale drop us a PM, (or even where to get a good discounted one would be great.) Thanks |
Best off just forking out for a new one dude, they're not something that people just replace or upgrade from. BlackVue are pretty much the best out there. I paid $600 for my DR650 2 cam and they're now down to $500 at various outlets.

yep I paid 499 inc the power magic thingy for a 2 ch...

Thanks for the info. Where did you get these from and which 2ch model. Auto blackbox?
Also are there any other good ones that are comparable? |
$549 but located in Perth - BlackVue DR650S-2CH In Car Camera | Radars Direct Australia
Alternatively just chuck the model number in ebay.com.au and there will be sellers over east that offer them for $499. Just depends if you want to spend an extra $50 and pick it up in person immediately. Not sure of anything comparable to be honest. Just a warning, the rear camera is shit - 720p. It's good for a second view to prove you weren't at fault in an accident, etc. but very hard to get a numberplate from unless the light is perfect. |
Any thing cheaper ?
|
I got mine from Auto one in Cannington....they were on special ( not sure if they still are at $499)
Yeah Seagull you do not have to get the 2 ch one ( front and rear) the 1 ch ones are cheaper.... lots to choose from depends how much you wnt to spend Ebay does some cheap ones....good reviews here I had one of these for about 3 years until it failed https://dashcamsaustralia.com.au/shop/dashcams/dashcams-australia/mini-0805-gps/ Plenty to choose from https://dashcamsaustralia.com.au/reviews/ |
For a forward only viewing dash cam you can't go far past a Street Guardian SG9665GC V2 or V3.
TheV3 has just been released and can use a 200GB Micro SD Card. Support is 2nd to none, either via "jokiin" on Whirlpool Forum Automotive thread or DashCam Talk Forum on GuardTrak/Street Guardian thread. I have the SG9665GC V2 with a 128GB Micro SD Card and CPL (Central Polarising Lens) filter on it and it's a great little dashcam, it is discreet when mounted on the Frit (black dots) behind the rear view mirror. Just be aware that the SD card is inserted/removed on the LH side of the cam when it's mounted, I mounted mine on the RH side and too close to the mirror before I realised how hard it was to get the card out. The cheapest place I have found for the Street Guardian is Strathpine Car Radios in Sydney, they also have an eBay site. Note: Street Guardian are currently working on a 2Ch DashCam but I have no idea when the release date will be and jokiin will not give any hints either (he is involved in the development of the SG dashcams). |
Hey Seagull, I bought a cheapy from eBay, works great according to the Chinese guy over the rd (had to get him to change it to English for me) and he's got an exxy one, a whole $14.00 landed and takes a 32gig micro card lol I haven't driven the Subi since I put it in so haven't looked at it yet but it took reasonable pics when I plugged it into the computer, lets face it, good to practice with and throw away if you don't like it.
