Love the old school RS. I regret never owning one before they got too old.

Is the FMIC a china spec with 30m of piping? or is it the fact that the tiny TD04 hasn't got the guts to fill the pipes, thus creating lag?

EDIT: TD04 flutter/comp surge is fine... its an excuse to upgrade with it goes

I'd say it's a combination of china spec FMIC and a TD04 struggling with the crazy pipe work. I haven't seen many with FMIC pipes that travel the way mine do. "under the battery"

Looking at getting a TD05 soon + a good tune will help a lot!

Wouldn't help being an MY01 with the taller ratios either. Get the pipes shortened and a decent tune in it and I think you'll find most of the problem goes away

It's a fact of life (with FMIC) that extra piping will cause the lag/response slightly, but shouldn't make the TD04 spool as fast as a GT35!

Process West has the SHORTEST piping on the current market: the sacrifice is the sharper bends needed to keep the piping short. But overall good quality gear that has plenty of R&D behind it.

GREDDY/TRUST is a little longer: but has lew harsh bends in the pipe. Same quality as the P-West gear.

The type of core makes just as much difference too. I'd prefer a Greddy FMIC that costs 3x as much than some china boat anchor

Spent some time looking into it and I will be going a TD05H-16g or 18g ( Not looking at a 2nd hand VF or even a new one due to the Cost vs Performance )

If I go with the 18g I will probably bet a PW or AVO TMIC.

+ Tune/Dyno.

* More silicone added.

Not much more going in, this was only done due to the amount of cracked, heat damaged factory pipes.

Must admit that I'm a fan of the silicone pipes! But the wait for them to arive from the UK has been killing me.
