Default My Version 5

Well as some of you may know I have been looking around for a toy track car for a while..

I finally came across something I was interested in after dicking around building things and trying to do them on the cheap (doesnt work)

I while back I found a JDM Version 5 Sti at JWS

I picked up the car on a permit to bring it home.. Get about 5kms from JWS and it spins a bearing.. Long story short I was bloody unlucky and these things sadly Just happen.

So I bought a 207 long motor from another importer who shall remain nameless. I put it in and it also had a knocking noise (just my luck) I dropped the importer an email and advised him of the condition of the motor and that I would be out of the country for some time. When I got back car was pulled down and engine delivered to ASG for stripping and Inspection.

Now keep in mind this was sold as a perfect motor.. (I ran it for less than 10 minutes)

Every piston had picked up and all bearings had damage so at some stage it had been run dry I suspect.

After a fair bit of arguing and debate the importer sorted me with another 207.

However I decided that this wasnt the way to go and have bought a few bits to make the old girl a little fresher.

So far the list comprises of

Cosworth 2.2L
Cosworth Timing belt guide
Cosworth Windage Tray/Sump Baffle
STi Metal Head Gaskets
VF28
Syms Racing Equal length headers and Uppipe (ceramic coated)
3 Inch Turbo Back Exhaust
Silicone Intake and hose Kit
Motec M4 with advanced functions, logging and Wideband lambda
ARC Induction Box
Fidanza lightweight flywheel
ARP Head Stud Kit
PAR 5 Speed DogBox

Few Other odds and sods also but thats about it for the business end of the car

Some Pics

I have also started to put her on a diet and change a few interior bits

New switch panel for starter and a few other things.. Will include some gauges in the future

Thats about all I can say right now.

Massive thanks to the boys at ASG and Muggz, Ramon and Wazza for the help when ripping it all apart.
