FINALLY got around to getting the Norm Butler goodness happening (Valentine's present to myself ), and a Walbro fuel pump for good measure. Thanks as always to Doug and Damien.



Loving the deeper note (compared to the dodgy muffler-less set-up the previous owner did), and getting that proper boxer burble

Bum-dyno says it's revving free-er, feels mildy quicker. Verso is booked in for next month

Looks nice

After finding out that the engine may have been lazy on a cylinder (turns out 2 of the pistons were pretty rooted), decided to get the (inevitable :P) strip and repair, with these mods (further to the Butler TBE and fuel pump):

Cosworth forged pistons and rings
Cosworth big end and main bearings
Cosworth head gaskets
STI gasket and seal kit
STI timing belt, and tensioner
STI water pump
ARP head stud kit
Platinum spark plugs
Clutch plate


Got the work done at ASG, and with the Verso tune done it's making 252 BHP and 390NM ATW.



Suffice to say, I'm pretty chuffed with it, loving the improved drivability and mid-range punch.
