23rd it is. Was hoping to be done for the AL time attack night but the muffler thing has thrown a spanner in the works.

GTB Liberty 11-10-2011 05:41 PM
the muffler thing has thrown a spanner in the works.
Hold on, you're planning on running a straight/blast pipe as your diff-back and you're not doing the time attack night because the rear muffler is missing.....

XT43 11-10-2011 07:47 PM

It's in the workshop getting the diff back section Thursday / Friday

Terry.Wrist 11-10-2011 08:03 PM

XT43 12-10-2011 04:27 PM

Haha, some have no idea..

Jeckle 12-10-2011 10:46 PM

Nice work Burke, maybe I should go down the E85 route to make some more torque.:D

Maybe I just need to learn how to drive.:o
Got my car back yesterday after the E85 tune.

Added
VF36
Headers + Up pipe
Mac 3 port
Aeromotive fuel Pump in tank
Process West surge tank with Bosch 044
ID 1000 injectors

Ran into a little drama with my HKS Silent exhaust as it was a bit to restrictive so its currently running with no diff back section. Made for an interesting drive home in peak hour.
I'm booked in on Thursday to get a 3 inch straight through section. No muffler.

297.3HP ( 221.7kw )
427.3NM
1.5bar ( 21.7 psi )

Maybe add some E85:D

Na, not going E85. It's logistically difficult. Collie for instance...drive the car there, 100 litres, (and I don't know of a gas station selling it on the way), track time 50 laps minimum, another 100 litres, drive it home another 100. Trailer it down...trailer to carry the car, plus 100 litres of fuel for the weekend, trailer home again. Storing E85 at home in a garage...not too smart, I reckon!!!.

If I was within striking distance of a championship event then I'd go there. But as I am, it's not worth the effort.:(

Terry.Wrist 12-10-2011 11:35 PM

Bragging rights at the kitchen table >> Championship :D

You do make a good point about Collie, I never considered the increased cost of doing Collie.

Next project should be make a car trailer ;)

Matty05 13-10-2011 10:53 AM

Nah Nah not switching sides just like the healthy competition between all the subies

I think you might be a bit of a suprise packet come track day

XT43 13-10-2011 12:27 PM

Yeah, I think the competition between the subies is pretty tight!

We'll let the emos and Gtrs fight it out at the top!

Looks a bit pea shooterish out the back but serves it's purpose. Obviously louder than my last system but if I shift around 3.5k rpm it's far from cop bait.

Just have to put up with being dragged off by camrys at the lights.

Big thanks to Andy Butler from Andys Exhaust Werx in Welshpool. Dropped it off in the arvo and picked it up the next morning with 2 days notice.

Also big thanks to the boys down at ASG for the last round of mods and tune. Hadn't dealt with them before, but funnily enough they were as good as everyone on here had suggested.

Hoping she holds together for some :3gears:

You'd better hang on tight Russ, It'd be a bumpy ride going over me. I'll be kicking hard. I reckon I'll rattle your mirrors! And all that for 33.3333333333333% of fuck all but a little blue car? (presuming those other two pricks will count you in on the deal).

With respect to Andy (who I've known for years) it looks like some dodgy sewer plumbing and probably sounds as bad...gurgle, gurgle!

XT43 14-10-2011 11:23 PM

It's an exhaust, no real point getting it all polished up and pretty.

Welds look neat as far as my total lack of welding knowledge goes but you can have a better look at it and give us your expert opinion when we use you as a speed hump next weekend.

The other 'Butler built' exhaust...

teejay 15-10-2011 12:51 AM

Why circle jerk over a piece of metal your never going to see. If it flows, it flows.
The other 'Butler built' exhaust...
I've seen plenty of Norms exhausts laying on the floors of garages after being taken off and they look exactly like mine, I just passed the polished and pretty stage.
I managed to pass the expensive bit too.

Thank fuck, some common sense.
