Thought it was about time I did a little story about my ladyinred.

Have always had an interest in Subarus. Just love the sound, power and the style (except for the betty's). Licence in hand and just needed the car. The parents noticed my car of choice and pretty much said, “you’re dreaming”. So after some sulking I bought a Corolla instead

A few years on and some driving experience later I was looking into getting my first WRX. The boyfriend at the time drove a 02 WRX and I got tired of only being ‘allowed’ to drive it when he had been drinking. After a few weeks of looking around I found a red MY06 at City Subaru and I pretty much fell in love with it immediately. In April of 2010 I came home in my 2.5 and the now ex was fuming! Surprise dickhead!

Its pretty much stock, only got an aftermarket clutch and a boost gauge.

I didn’t know much about the technical side to a WRX, though after being a member of p-diddy for just over a year, reading many threads and using the search function I’ve learnt a fair bit.

I haven’t had the best of luck with her. 2 weeks after I bought her, some lovely woman damaged the driver’s side door while parking next to me at Kwinana Train station. Thankfully she left a note and her insurance paid for it.

Few weeks later had trouble getting her started, (yes I know where the clutch is and how to switch to ignition). Luckily my free tow with the RAC came in handy and she went to Stechnic. The temperamental thing started at Doug’s of course. But in the end it was the Brant that was the issue (not the female driver…. This time) and it was removed.

Moved to a new house, which meant new driveway with brick walls and new scratches down my panels. Female Driver Fail. Took her to a panel and paint place to be resprayed, while they were at it got the stone chips on the bonnet done too and some other dents and scratches. Couple weeks later noticed a noise coming from the rear tyres. The nuts were loose causing damage to the rim… needed new rims. Found some and Stechnic swapped them over, thanks Doug

The left pop up washer decided to fly off in the wind though I was able to find it. Had some fun with pedestrians at intersections in the meantime by giving them little showers (pic below will show you why!)

Some lowlife attempted to take the front badge too, so that has also been replaced.

Now that the dramas are almost finally over, I’m giving her some well-needed love. Adz is detailing her this week just before the Colin McRae Cruise so she’s all shiny. Then she’s going for a service next week at Stechnic with new rims getting swapped over again (ones I purchased were buckled) and getting lowered too. The next month or so it will be getting a tint as TJ reminds me its a fishbowl, then soon after something to give it that boxer rumble.

Will post photos of the changes in the coming months!

Big thanks to those who have helped me search for parts and getting in contact with people etc. Would have been a massive task doing it all on my own! Great doing the skidpan too, well worth while. P-diddy love x
